After just eight games, Rapinoe scored two goals to help the MagicJack finish third in the division. The magicJack was dissolved in the latter part of 2011, and WPS fell apart in the early months of in 2012. The year 2011 saw Rapinoe play a few games for Sydney Football Club FC of the Australian W-League before returning to the United States. The next team she joined was the Seattle Washington Sounders Women. Now they are the Sound FC. Rapinoe lived in France in 2013 during the football season. She was then a part of the Seattle Reign FC now OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL created after the WPS was disbanded. Rapinoe gained the status of one of the team's leading scorers and eventually became coach of the club. She was part of an U.S. Olympic soccer women team, which played during the Olympics in London England. Rapinoe was a participant in her second Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. In Rio it was the U.S. lost in the quarterfinals. Rapinoe's first FIFA Women's World Cup was back in 2011. Her efforts helped her team U.S. team win consecutive Women's World Cup championships in 2015 and 2019. The team was awarded cocaptain status in the year 2018. In the 2021 Olympics at Tokyo Japan delayed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Rapinoe recorded two goals during the bronze medal game when she helped the United States defeated Australia by a score of 4-3.
